Kustos stands on other people’s work

Several screens exist because these projects published their data, their designs or their research. Each line says what Kustos actually takes, so the credit is checkable rather than decorative.

TitleCardMaker

Episode title-card layouts are adapted from its card types. Their reference fonts and images are fetched from the project’s repo at runtime rather than bundled.

Kometa

Collection and overlay conventions — defaults, sort-title scheme, the network, streaming and rating logo sets its repo publishes, and the importer that reads an existing Kometa asset library.

TRaSH-Guides

Custom-format definitions, their recommended scores, the quality-size templates and the profile templates — fetched from the Guides repo at runtime and written to your Sonarr/Radarr instances.

Coverlabs

Poster styles are adapted from their designs.

MediUX

Community poster, backdrop and title-card sets, browsed and applied by set.

ThePosterDB

Community poster sets.

TMDB

Metadata, artwork, logos and cast used across the library, collections and every template render.

The Movie Database

This product uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.

Fanart.tv

Clear logos and additional artwork.

TheTVDB

Per-episode still frames for the title-card designer — TheTVDB often has stills TMDB lacks, which is the exact gap the Poster Studio picker fills.

Metadata provided by TheTVDB. Please consider adding missing information or subscribing.

TVmaze

Show status — whether a series is running or ended, and the dates the watch filters and cleanup rules read. Timelier and more TV-specific than TMDB’s answer.

Show status data from TVmaze, used under CC BY-SA.

AniList

Anime lists read from their public GraphQL API, turned into the ids Plex matches on.

Trakt

Per-user watched and collected history, and list-backed collection builders.

MDBList

List-backed collection builders and rating data for overlays.

Letterboxd

List-backed collection builders, read from public list feeds.

Kometa IMDb-Awards

Award winners and nominees behind the ribbon overlays and award collections — a maintained dataset of per-event files, not IMDb’s own API.

Copyright (c) meisnate12. Licensed under the MIT License — see the third-party notices for the full text.

Fribb anime-lists

The id map every anime collection sits on — AniDB, AniList, MyAnimeList, TMDB and TVDB ids for the same title, built on the manami-project database.

Simkl

Trending lists, and per-user watch history for anyone who links their account. Each person connects their own Simkl account.

Where Simkl data is shown, Simkl is named and each title links to its own Simkl page rather than to the Simkl homepage. Simkl’s API is free for non-commercial use and under US$150/month in revenue; above that it needs a commercial licence — their developer confirmed on 2026-09-26 that syncing watchlists and scrobbles does not require one.

StevenLu Popular Movies

A public popular-films feed, used as a collection builder.

Plex

Your own server — libraries, collections, artwork, watch state and labels, read and written over its HTTP API with your token. Kustos also reaches Plex’s own services to sign you in, to confirm which account a token belongs to, and to read Plex Watchlists.

Plex, the Plex Play logo and Plex Media Server are trademarks of Plex and used under a license. Kustos is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Plex.

Tautulli

Watch history and per-user play data read from your own instance.

Overseerr / Jellyseerr

Requests, and the request defaults Kustos writes back to your own instance.

Prowlarr

Indexer availability, read from your own instance when deciding what can be found.

qBittorrent

Download queue state read from your own client.

Telegram

Notifications, sent through the Bot API with your own bot token.

AI providers — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter

The assistant features and the artwork vision passes, sent to whichever provider you have configured, with your own API key.
