Build your first collection

Point it at a source, preview it, then build it.

  1. Go to Collections and create one, or open Presets and add a ready-made one. A preset lands as a real, editable collection — a starting point, not a locked template.
  2. Add a builder. That is the source: a TMDB collection, a Trakt or MDBList list, a studio, a network. Add more than one if you like; every source is merged and de-duplicated into one collection.
  3. Narrow it with Filters if you need to. Filters run after the builders resolve, and group with ANY / ALL.
  4. Press Preview. This resolves the builders and writes nothing.
  5. Read the dimmed rows. A builder resolves the whole franchise or list, but Plex only ever gets the part you own. Dimmed titles are the ones you do not have, and they will not appear in Plex until you do.
  6. Press Build now when the preview looks right.

To have the gaps filled for you, set a quality profile and turn on Add missing items. A quality profile does nothing on its own — see Quality profile.
