General
Instance name
The name this install answers to. It shows in the browser tab and on every outgoing Discord and Telegram notification.
Worth setting if you run more than one Kustos, or if notifications from this one land in a channel alongside other tools — "Kustos" tells you nothing when three things are posting to the same room.
External URL
The address Kustos uses when it has to build a link that will be opened off this machine: notification links, and the Kustos-hosted Invite page.
Leave it empty and those links point at localhost, which resolves to the recipient's own computer. The invite will not open for them, and nothing will say why — the link is well-formed, it just goes somewhere else. Set this to an address that actually reaches Kustos from where the recipient will be.
It does not affect the Link button. Those links are hosted by Plex and Trakt on their own sites, so they work from anywhere regardless of what is in this box. See Link and Invite.
Timezone
The zone every schedule is expressed in — task intervals, run windows, cleanup grace periods and the "last run / next run" columns.
Changing it requires a restart. Schedules are computed against the zone the process started in, so the displayed next-run times and the actual firing times would disagree until Kustos is restarted.
MDBList lookups per pass
How many titles the ratings refresh may look up on MDBList in one run.
MDBList has a daily budget, not a rate limit, so the setting exists to spread a large library over days rather than spending the whole allowance at once. A big library fills in over a couple of weeks at the shipped value. Raise it if you want it filled sooner and are not using the quota elsewhere; lower it if something else on your account shares the budget.
The TMDB half of the ratings refresh is free — it reads the local metadata cache and makes no external call — so this number governs only the MDBList half.
The shipped value is 250, and it is sized for the FREE tier — whose daily budget a whole-library sweep would burn through in minutes. If you are on a paid MDBList tier there is no reason to leave it there.
Artwork language
The language every artwork scrape prefers unless it names its own — logos, backdrops and poster templates.
It never costs you coverage. A title whose only artwork is in another language still gets that artwork, because the ranking falls through rather than filtering out. Per-scrape overrides live on Automate Artwork.
Font folders
Kustos ships two faces. Everything else comes from your existing Kometa or TitleCardMaker install, auto-detected in the usual locations, with sub-folders searched too.
Add your own folder here if your fonts live somewhere else. The card shows how many faces were found and how many are built in, so "0 found" versus "the folder is wrong" is answerable without guessing.
API keys
A key for anything that is not a browser: scripts, a terminal, another machine.
Send it as an X-Api-Key header (what the *arrs use) or as Authorization: Bearer <key>.
A key has the same access as signing in. There is no read-only key and no scoping. Treat it exactly like the account password — anything holding it can delete media, rewrite artwork and push to Trakt.
